On Monday, the Tripoli Security Directorate announced the arrest of two wanted persons in a murder that occurred nine years ago in the city.
According to the official statement published on the directorate’s Facebook page, the Industrial District Police Station had received a report in 2015 from a citizen stating that his son had been kidnapped from the house. Three days later, the father found his son in poor health, as he died after being transferred to the hospital. Hospitalized as a result of the torture he was subjected to.
The Directorate explained that after presenting the report to the Public Prosecution, it ordered the body to be presented to the forensic doctor, and after listening to the statements of the victim’s family, the identities of two people involved in the kidnapping and murder were identified, and an arrest warrant was issued against them.
In June, one of them was arrested, and on the eighth of this month, the second accused was arrested. After interrogation, the two accused were referred to the competent prosecution, which put them in prison.
In another context, members of the investigation at the Tripoli Security Directorate were able to arrest a wanted man in an attempted murder incident on July 2nd in the Al-Furnaj Police Station, and he was referred to the relevant center.
Two people were also arrested in a drug abuse incident and referred to the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Office.
In addition, a wanted person was arrested in a shooting incident in Zawiyat Al-Dahmani district and referred to the competent center to complete the rest of the legal procedures.
