The head of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, announced on Friday that Libya has officially joined South Africa in the case before the International Court of Justice against Israel over the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

During his speech at the opening of the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Uganda, Al-Menfi praised the “courageous and historic” position of South Africa, adding that Libya will also join the second issue against Israel’s violations and practices in the Palestinian territories to be held next February.

It is noteworthy that the International Court of Justice began on January 11, its first session on the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel on charges of genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, while the legal arguments of the second lawsuit will be held before the Court next February, with the participation of a number of Arab countries, under the supervision of the State of Palestine.
