Al-Koni and Al-Lafi pointed to the need to achieve cooperation in order to achieve the electoral elections eagerly awaited by the Libyan people.
According to the press office of the President of the Presidential Council, during the meeting, the initiative of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdullah Batelli, on dialogue between the main parties in the political process was reviewed.
They also touched on the file of national reconciliation, the reconstruction of the city of Derna, the situation in the cities of the south and the protection of borders, in addition to other local and international issues.
In a related context, Norland expressed his appreciation for the active role played by the Presidential Council in supporting efforts to address the political impasse and the file of national reconciliation.
He expressed the United States’ full support for the success of reconciliation processes, with the aim of restoring stability and peace in Libya.
