The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government and Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, received the Deputy Commander of the US Africa Command, Lieutenant General John Brennan, and the Commander of the Special Operations Command in Africa, Admiral Ronald Faure, and their accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of the Libyan General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad.

According to a Libyan statement, the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Libya and the United States in the field of combating terrorism and border security.

The statement stated that the meeting touched on the implementation of a number of joint training programs, with the aim of raising the efficiency of Libyan army members and developing their capabilities in facing security challenges.

This meeting comes in conjunction with the attempts of the United States of America to expand its activity in Libya after the decline of its influence in the country that led its invasion and destruction in 2011.
