The Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Agency in Libya announced the seizure of three containers loaded with the drug known as “Captagon”, which it said were coming from Syria.
The agency said in a statement that the containers carry more than 16.5 million Captagon tablets, and that the operation was carried out in cooperation between the concerned agency and the “Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade” of the General Command and the Customs Authority.
According to the statement, the large amount of narcotic pills was seized by the security forces and destroyed by burning them completely in a beach area.
The statement did not include information about the port where the prohibited shipment was seized, nor did it mention the parties or persons involved in the operation.
