The General Directorate of Coastal Security in Libya announced the rescue of 199 illegal migrants who were on board a rickety boat inside Libyan territorial waters.
Libya’s Interior Ministry said maritime patrols were able to rescue migrants, including men, women, children and people of various nationalities.
The ministry said they were rescued immediately and disembarked at the Tripoli branch of the Reef Port point.
The ministry explained that they were handed over to the Department for Combating Illegal Migration to take the necessary legal measures.
