The Russian transport group “FISCO” announced the launch of a regular sea line linking the Egyptian city of Alexandria with the Russian port of Novorossiysk.
In order to develop foreign trade routes, the FESCO Transport Group has launched a regular sea line, linking Alexandria directly with the (port) of Novorossiysk without entering the transshipment ports,” the group said in a statement.

Andrei Severilov, chairman of the board of directors of FESCO, said that FESCO is the largest transport company in Russia and has the largest naval fleet in the country and will become a bridge between the Russian and African economies, including the Maghreb and North Africa countries as a whole.
The first container ship, the Visco Scold, with a capacity of 1,800 containers, arrived in Alexandria on Wednesday, December 20.
Travel time from Alexandria to Novorossiysk will take 6 days.
According to the group, “the flow of goods imported from Egypt includes vegetables, fruits and food products of plant origin, while exports from Russia are fertilizers, various chemicals, food products, legumes and other agricultural products, as well as wood products.”
