Paris Saint-Germain French football striker, Kylian Mbappé, announced on Friday his departure from the French league champions at the end of the current season.

Kylian Mbappé joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 from Monaco and extended his contract in 2022 until 2024, but last summer refused to activate a clause allowing him to stay another year at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappé said in a video posted through his official account on the platform “X”: “I will finish my adventure in a few weeks, and I will play my last match at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, against Toulouse in the thirty-third and penultimate phase of the French league.”

Mbappé continued: “It’s difficult, I didn’t think that announcing my departure from my country and the First Division, the tournament I’ve always known, was so difficult, but I think I need it, the need for a new challenge after this year.”

The 25-year-old Mbappe wished to end his adventure with the capital club better by leading him to the final of the Champions League, but the journey ended last Tuesday, at the semi-finals at the hands of Borussia Dortmund, who won the second leg in Paris (1-0), the same result of the first leg at the stadium “Signal Iduna Park” in Dortmund.

Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid was widely reported but the Frenchman did not mention the Spanish team in the video but confirmed his departure from the French capital.
