Algerian gymnast Kalia Nemour won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the first gold medal for Algeria and the Arab world in this session.
Nemour, 17, showed exceptional skills in the uneven bars final, and her victory came after a strong performance in the individual all-around final, where she took an advanced position, and then scored 15.700 points to win the gold.
Nemour is the first Arab and African to ascend to the podium in a gymnastics competition at the Olympic Games, and her gold medal is the second medal for Algeria at the Paris Olympics, after boxer Iman Khalif secured at least a bronze medal in the under 66 kg weight class.
It is worth noting that this gold is the first for Algeria at the Olympics since the victory of runner Tawfik Makhloufi at the London 2012 Olympics.
