The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, co-chaired the meeting of the Security Working Group emerging from the Berlin Process.
The meeting was held with the participation of co-chairs from France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey and the African Union.
Khoury said that the meeting discussed “ways to support Libyan security institutions and active Libyan parties in achieving sustainable peace and stability.”
Khoury added that “the steps that can be taken to support Libyan efforts to unify security and military institutions, build confidence, and enhance respect for the ceasefire agreement” were reviewed.
