The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in Sudan, Jibril Ibrahim, said that his country is working to strengthen economic and political relations between his country and Russia, and upgrade them to become strategic relations of a special nature.

This came during the meeting of the Minister of Finance, with the President of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Business, to discuss investment opportunities available in Sudan, especially in the industrial sectors.

The Minister of Finance of Sudan stressed that the Sudanese government would work to remove investment obstacles that hinder the work of Russian companies in his country and reviewed the current situation in Sudan and the opportunities available for Russian investments to enter the country.

For his part, the President of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Business stressed Sudan’s strategic importance to Russia, pointing to the historical relations in the field of business between the two countries, stressing the keenness of the Russian Chamber of Industry and Business to develop the relationship with Sudan, especially the current investments in the energy and mining sectors.

The Minister of Finance of Sudan also discussed with the head of the company operating in the field of mining, which owns the largest gold mining company in Sudan, ways to develop the company’s business in Sudan and the possibility of expanding its business.
