The “First of October” prosecution office in Egypt issued a decision to release five individuals with guarantees of their place of residence after they were accused of assaulting Nahawand Sari, the presenter of Al-Ahly Channel, inside a cinema.
The incident began when the broadcaster tried to talk to the defendants about taking their children to watch a movie that was not suitable for children (for virgins only), which led to the outbreak of a dispute that developed into an assault on her.
Nahawand stated in the police report that the dispute began when she expressed her objection to the inconvenience caused by the presence of children in the hall, which spoiled her viewing experience.
After the attack, Sari went to a government hospital where she underwent a medical examination and a report was prepared on the injuries she sustained, which was attached to the report submitted to the Public Prosecution to investigate the incident.
Nahawand Sari is an Egyptian journalist and lawyer who works as a presenter for many television programs on various channels. She began her media career in 2011 as a presenter for the “Sabah On” program on the “On TV” channel, and won many awards, including the Best Talk Show Presenter award from the Arab Media Festival in 2016. .
