A video circulating on social media platforms showed a stabbing incident in the Rusaifa Brigade mosque in Zarqa Governorate in Jordan, where a person stabbed four worshipers.
Public Security Directorate media spokesman Col. Amer al-Sartawi revealed that the attacker, who suffers from mental disorders, entered the Sahaba Mosque, and launched an attack with a sharp object on worshipers, causing superficial injuries.
The injured were taken to hospital, where their condition was described as good, while the security services began investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the attacker is not a resident of the area, and showed signs of anger without knowing the reason, as he began threatening worshipers and the imam with cursing and shouting.
It is noteworthy that worshipers confronted the attacker and succeeded in controlling him and presenting him to the security authorities, while it is not yet clear the real motives behind this heinous attack inside the place of worship.
