The White House announced that Israeli Strategic Affairs Secretary Ron Dermer will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan to discuss the conflict in Gaza.

Israeli officials said Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer is expected to arrive in Washington on Tuesday for meetings on Israel’s plans to reduce the war.

The meeting in Washington comes as the United States has publicly urged Israel to do more to protect civilians in Gaza amid the rising death toll from the war.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip was likely to last for months.

Since Oct 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, which as of Tuesday has left 20,915 dead, 54,918 wounded, mostly children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, according to Gaza authorities and the United Nations.
