An Israeli website revealed efforts by Tel Aviv to reach an agreement with Rwanda and Chad to receive displaced Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
According to the sources, this initiative comes under the supervision of the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the Mossad, to organize the “voluntary displacement” of residents of the Gaza Strip, which has been suffering from three months of aggression.
The Zaman Israel website reported that Israeli officials are in ongoing talks with Rwanda and Chad, with the two countries agreeing to a basic agreement to continue talks on the subject, in exchange for other countries rejecting the idea.
Tel Aviv has offered inducements including generous financial grants to Palestinians who express a desire to leave Gaza, as well as aid and weapons to host countries.
Israeli ministers, including National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and ruling Likud MK Danny Danon, have called in recent weeks to encourage what they describe as the “voluntary immigration” of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, drawing US, international and Arab criticism.
For its part, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry expressed its rejection of these plans, stressing that “voluntary displacement” requires international intervention to stop what it described as “crime and war,” while Hamas described the calls as “unimplementable dreams.”
It is worth noting that the Israeli aggression on Gaza caused about 23,000 deaths, in addition to 57,000 injuries, and displaced most of the 2.3 million residents of the Strip from their homes in light of a humanitarian tragedy.
