Israel has made it clear to the Egyptian security delegation in Tel Aviv that if there is no progress in the negotiations, its forces will attack the Palestinian city of Rafah in southern Gaza near the border with Egypt.

The Israeli message is that “there is a clear deadline for entering Rafah, and that Israel will not agree to another round of pointless talks.”

The website quoted its sources as saying that Israel is interested in releasing 33 Israelis, with the number of days of the ceasefire depending on the number of those who will be released.

The Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a relentless Israeli war and unprecedented bombardment by land, sea, and air since October 7, has been experiencing very difficult humanitarian conditions, especially in the northern regions, where the aid that reaches the south of the Gaza Strip is not enough for the needs of citizens, especially in Rafah, which is the last refuge for the displaced.

Estimated at only 65 square kilometers, Palestinian Rafah hosts more than 1.5 million displaced Palestinians from across the Gaza Strip.
