The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Al-Sudani, stressed the importance of economic and political cooperation between Iraq and Egypt, stressing Egypt’s role as an economic pillar and support for Iraq in the region.
Al-Sudani pointed out that the economy and development are key to strengthening relations between the two countries, stressing the existing economic integration between them.
During his interview with journalist Alaa Thabet, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram in Baghdad, Al-Sudani stressed that Egypt and Iraq represent the deepest cultural hotspots in the region, and that there is a common will to enhance cooperation and build a strategic partnership that benefits both countries.
The Iraqi Prime Minister pointed out that the projects of cooperation and strategic integration between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan depend on realism and common challenges faced by the three peoples, and the search for appropriate solutions is a basis for promoting stability and development in the region.
In a related context, Al-Sudani stressed that Iraq will continue to carry out economic and political reforms, noting that the “Development Road” project will promote development in the entire region, and will be a magnet for national and international investments.
Al-Sudani concluded his speech by stressing the commitment to the principles of good neighborliness in regional relations, noting that unity in position and vision will enhance the voice of the two countries in the international arena and achieve development and stability in the region.
