The Iranian army announced the arrest of a soldier who killed 5 of his colleagues in a military barracks in Kerman province.
The Iranian news agency “Fars” quoted Brigadier General Gholam Alyan as saying that the fugitive was arrested on the outskirts of the city of Zarnand in southeastern Iran, and that an investigation is underway to find out the motives for committing the shooting incident and this will be announced later.
Alyan added that the accused soldier was on guard duty at one of the army’s military sites, as he entered the soldiers’ rest hall and shot at them with unknown motives until the moment.
The soldier opened fire on his colleagues, killing five of them in an Iranian army’s logistical support unit in Kerman, in the southeast of the country, according to the Iranian military commander.
