The Russian ambassador to Libya, Idar Aganin, extended an official invitation to the Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, to visit the Russian capital, Moscow.
He handed over the invitation songs during a meeting at Saleh’s office in the city of Qubba, where the two sides discussed political developments in Libya and the issue of the resignation of UN envoy Abdullah Bathili.
During the meeting, Saleh stressed the need to unite efforts to achieve stability in Libya through the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections, stressing the need for a unified government that includes all parts of the country to ensure the success of these elections.
For his part, the Russian ambassador expressed his country’s support for Libya in its endeavors towards stability and development, stressing the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also dealt with the political process in Libya, in light of the current challenges and political transformations taking place in the region.
