India and the UAE have signed investment and trade agreements, including a framework agreement for a major trade corridor project linking India to Europe via the Middle East, announced last year at the G20 summit, during a visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UAE.
Modi arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday (February 13th) for a two-day visit, during which he will inaugurate the largest Hindu temple in the Middle East and address thousands of Indian expatriates ahead of India’s national elections due to begin in April.
Modi met UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the fifth meeting the two leaders have held in eight months.
The Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Modi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed have concluded several agreements, including a bilateral investment treaty, based on the comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the two countries signed in 2022.
