The Russian newspaper “Kommersant” said that gas production in Russia rose by 9.4% during the period from January to March this year, compared to the same period last year.
Gas production in the first three months of this year amounted to about 196 billion cubic meters, and in March 2024 alone, the production of Russian companies reached 65.4 billion cubic meters, recording an increase of 7.9% compared to March 2023.
The newspaper report showed that Gazprom, Russia’s largest gas company, increased its production by 13 percent to 132 billion cubic meters, and other companies in the energy sector recorded increases in gas production as well.
In a related context, the report stated that Gazprom intends to increase the supply of blue fuel to China through the “Siberian Force” project, in addition to the company’s intention to sign a contract for the construction of the “Siberian Force-2” pipe project.
