The leak of photos of the body of well-known Iraqi blogger Um Fahd (Ghufran Mahdi Sawadi) sparked outrage on social media.
These images were reportedly circulated in private WhatsApp groups in Iraq.
Activists have pointed out that the leaked photos depict um Fahd’s body completely naked, and the photography focuses on sensitive areas of her body, within the Medico-Legal Authority.
According to the verified “Iraqi minister” account on the “X” platform, the forensic doctor, who examined the body and signed the death certificate, caused the naked body to be photographed and transferred the photos to his friends, which led to its spread.

It should be noted that um Fahd died last Friday after being shot by gunmen, while she was in her car in front of her house in the Mazyouna area of central Baghdad.

The incident sparked a wave of anger among the Iraqi authorities and the Medico-Legal Authority, amid calls for the swift arrest and accountability of the perpetrator of this heinous act.
