The Houthi military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the naval forces carried out an operation targeting the commercial ship “MSC UNITED” with naval missiles in the Red Sea.
In a statement, Saree stressed that the targeting took place only after the ship’s crew refused to obey the calls of the navy three times, and after rejecting the fire warnings as well.
Saree reiterated that the Yemeni armed forces are fully keen on the continuation of maritime traffic, while preventing the passage of all Israeli ships and ships heading to the ports of occupied Palestine.
Saree confirmed that the air force of the Yemeni armed forces carried out operations targeting the um al-Rashrash area (Eilat), in southern occupied Palestine, in addition to other occupied areas.
Saree recalled Yemen’s firm position since the beginning of the battle of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” on supporting the Palestinian people.
On December 15, Saree announced that the Yemeni naval armed forces had carried out two operations against two container ships in the Red Sea, which were heading to the Israeli occupation entity.
Following Houthi threats, a group of shipping companies halted their operations in the Red Sea, resulting in heavy losses for Israel.
In this context, the director of the port of “Eilat” admitted that the port’s activity in Eilat has declined by 85% since the start of operations in the Red Sea.
