The Prime Minister of Libya, appointed by the House of Representatives, Osama Hamad, announced the launch of a digital transformation project in state institutions and bodies.

This came during a workshop organized by the General Tax Authority under the title “Digital Transformation and the Future of the Libyan Tax Authority,” sponsored by the Ministry of Planning and Finance.

The workshop was attended by the Director General of the Tax Authority, Siraj Al-Shalmani, the Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Khaled Najm, the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Intisar Abboud, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mustafa Al-Mismari, and the Chairman of the Benghazi Municipality’s Administrative Council, Al-Saqr Boujwari, in addition to the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Bank of Commerce and Development and Burniq Aviation, Wassim Al-Zwai, General Advisor of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Benghazi, Salah Al-Amrouni, and a number of government officials, representatives of the Ministry of Planning and Finance and the Tax Authority, in addition to a group of academics and economic and financial experts.

In his speech during the workshop, Hamad stressed the importance of modern electronic systems and digital transformation plans that aim to develop the country’s financial and economic systems.

Hamad pointed out that digital transformation will enhance development, financial and tax stability, and ensure the accuracy of data and information in documentary sessions. It will also facilitate citizens’ access to the best services, away from bureaucracy, thus contributing to the formulation of public policies and the adoption of strategic decisions.
