The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, met on Wednesday with the commander of the operations of the ground forces, Major General Saddam Khalifa, the commander of the Tariq bin Ziyad Brigade Al-Mu’azziz, and the commander of the reinforced 128th Brigade.
The meeting took place in Haftar’s office at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi. The meeting comes as the Libyan army seeks to establish security in major cities, particularly Benghazi.
Earlier, the Benghazi Security Directorate said that the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces had allocated a number of police vehicles to the directorate, to help it provide security services in the city.
The media office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior in the Libyan government also announced that the military police of the General Command are following up their roving patrols and fixed positions in various neighborhoods and areas of Benghazi.
