The chairman of the Russian Grain Exporters’ Federation, Eduard Zernin, said that grain exporters have not yet felt the negative impact of the situation in the Red Sea.
He added that everyone understands that overnight the situation could change if things escalate further.
On January 12, US and British armed forces launched strikes using aircraft, ships, and submarines against Ansar Allah targets in a number of Yemeni cities, including Sana’a and Hodeidah. US President Joe Biden said the strike was in response to “unprecedented Houthi attacks” in the Red Sea, which he said was defensive. The targets were Houthi missile sites, drones, and radar stations.
