Interim Prime Minister of Libya Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, arrived in the Italian capital, Rome, to participate in Italy-Africa Summit, which will be held on Monday (January 29, 2024).
After his arrival in the Italian capital Dbeibeh received at his residence in Rome the Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahamat Saleh Annadif, and Head of the Chadian delegation participating in Italy-Africa summit. The discussion revolved around aspects of bilateral cooperation, the situation in Sudan and Niger and unifying efforts in this file.
Italian news agency Nova said that the summit is being organized under the auspices of the Italian government, headed by Giorgia Meloni.
It is expected that about 23 African heads of state and government and 57 international delegations will participate in the summit, in addition to high-level representatives of regional organizations and multilateral institutions operating on the African continent, such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and United Nations agencies.
According to the Italian agency, Tunisian President Kais Saied, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf are scheduled to participate in the summit alongside Dbeibeh.
