Former Liverpool FC star Graeme Souness has been harshly critical of striker Mohamed Salah, describing him as “the most selfish player he has met in his career”.
Souness’s criticism came during an interview with the program “Three Up Front”, pointing out that Salah may shine if he moves to the Saudi league, as despite everything he has done for Liverpool, his ambitions are high outside the English league.
Souness insisted Salah’s vision of himself was the source of the rift, as his lack of participation as a starter against West Ham affected his morale significantly.
Souness touched on the verbal altercation between Salah and coach Jurgen Klopp during that match, explaining that the tension between Salah and Klopp was noticeable.
Souness reiterated his critical view of Salah, pointing to Salah’s nervousness with substitutions during the match, which affected his behavior on and off the pitch.
The verbal confrontation between coach Jürgen Klopp and Salah took place on the touchline, during the thrilling 2-2 draw with West Ham, where Salah’s team-mate Darwin Núñez intervened to calm the atmosphere.
