Former mayor of Tajoura Houcine Benatia said that if elections are not held, the only alternative is continued chaos, looting and the loss of a new generation that will avenge itself.

Earlier in December, Benatia argued that the Libyan nation would be dissolved through a new government tasked only with holding elections.

Ben Attia posted on his Facebook account earlier this month, “There is no solution except with a new government and elections. “We refuse to sit in any agreement, like what happened in Skhirat or Geneva, and we see the elections being accepted.” Benatia commented, saying: “We say to him first that you accepted the Geneva agreement that brought you to power, and today you see it is not good, this is a strange contradiction. Second, elections need a law, and it is ready. Thirdly, the main political dialogue parties in the Skhirat agreement are the House of Representatives and the State Council.”
