An armed group broke into the studio of a public television channel during a live broadcast and took employees hostage in Ecuador.
The studio of state-owned television channel TC Television in the city of Guayaquil was stormed by an armed group during a live broadcast, according to the Associated Press.
In footage circulated on social media, people are seen covering their faces with masks, taking those in the studio hostage and placing explosives in the announcer’s pocket.
The footage also shows some members of the group projecting various explosives on camera, including grenades in their hands.
