Floodwaters flowed heavily into the city of Mashhad in Iran’s northeastern Razavi Khorasan province, killing at least 7 people and missing others according to local authorities.
The head of rescue operations in the city, Hamid Reza Kaviani, said that the number of deaths and missing people may rise in the coming hours, pointing to the focus of efforts on Revolution Square as a key point for rescue operations.
