British runner Ross Cook, 27, has become the world’s first adventurer to cross the African continent running along the west coast from south to north.
Nicknamed “the toughest strange man”, Cook arrived in the Ras Angla region in northern Tunisia, 20 kilometers from Bizerte, the farthest point on the African continent, through which he crossed 16 countries.
Koch crossed Namibia, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, and Algeria, before concluding his tour in Tunisia.
On April 22, 2023, Koch set off from Cape Agolhas municipality, South Africa’s farthest point, and by the time he crossed the line at Ras Angla in Bizerte, Tunisia’s northernmost point, he had covered more than 16,000 kilometers.
Cook documented his journey on social media platforms, where his posts garnered millions of views on “YouTube”,” X”, and “Instagram”.
