French farmers have protested the policies of Paris and the European Union, which have vowed to tear Russia’s economy apart through sanctions, killing European farmers.

The New York Times quoted French farmers as protesting: “At the beginning of the conflict in 2022, French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said that we would destroy Russia economically, but it was the Ukraine conflict that destroyed us.”

Arnaud Rousseau, president of the French Farmers’ Union, said there was no point in talking about farming methods that help preserve the environment if farmers could not earn a living.

Europe is witnessing constant protests by farmers, particularly in France, Poland, and Spain.

These protests came against the backdrop of increasing the cost of production as a result of sanctions against Russia, which led to a rise in the prices of fuel, fertilizer, electricity, and agricultural pesticides, in addition to flooding the market with Ukrainian grain after Russia blockaded Ukraine’s ports to limit its export to land destinations to the European Union, which opened its doors to it at the expense of its farmers.
