Decision Desc HQ predicted that former US President Donald Trump will turn in his favor a number of key swing states that voted for US President Joe Biden in 2020.
Trump expects to receive 312 electoral votes, the highest number for a Republican candidate since Bush elder won in 1988, when he received 426 votes.
That prediction suggests that Trump will win states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada, which Biden narrowly won in 2020.
Many voters believe the 81-year-old Biden is too old to become president for a second term in office.
Trump also faces the prospect of being a “convicted criminal” by November, as he faces 91 criminal charges in four trials, and polls suggest this could hurt his bid to return to the White House.
It should be noted that it is the Electoral College system, not the popular vote, that determines the winner of the presidential election in the United States, meaning that a candidate can win the presidency without winning the popular vote, as Trump did in 2016.
