The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, discussed with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, the developments of the political process in Libya.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 19th summit of heads of state and government of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Ugandan capital Kampala, according to a statement issued by the Presidential Council.
Menfi discussed with Guterres “the role of the Presidential Council in supporting the comprehensive political dialogue between the Libyan parties, and in leading the national reconciliation process.”
The meeting touched on the latest regional and international developments, especially the continued aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, while Al-Menfi praised the role of the Secretary-General and his positions towards the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and his continuous calls for an immediate ceasefire, according to the statement.
