On Saturday, the Benghazi Antiquities Supervision opened the Libyan Antiquities Exhibition as part of the Benghazi Summer Festival, at its headquarters in Al-Baraka Palace “Benghazi Barracks”.
The exhibition will continue until the end of the festival and is a unique opportunity for the public to view a collection of rare artifacts that tell the history of Benghazi throughout the ages.
Nasser Al-Harari, the Benghazi Antiquities Supervisor, stated in an interview with Al-Anbaa Al-Libya newspaper that the exhibition offers a distinguished historical journey by displaying artifacts representing different civilizations that the city has passed through.
He added that this exhibition comes as a continuation of the success of their participation in the “I am Libya, I am History” exhibition, and aims to enhance awareness of the rich cultural heritage of Benghazi.
Al-Harari called on all residents of the city and those interested in culture to visit the exhibition, which opens its doors for free, to enjoy viewing the artifacts that extend from prehistoric eras to classical and Islamic civilizations.
He also pointed out that the Benghazi Antiquities Supervision’s participation in the festival comes under the slogan “Benghazi needs a museum,” in a call to establish a special museum in the city that displays these rare archaeological treasures.
