The European Union has imposed sanctions on six entities involved in the war in Sudan, where the army has been fighting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April.

The European Council said in a statement that the six entities are responsible for supporting activities that undermine stability and political transition in the country.

Sanctions have been imposed on two weapons manufacturing companies for the army, namely ‘Industrial Defense Systems’ and ‘SMTE Engineering Industries.’ Additionally, sanctions were placed on ‘Zadna International Investment Limited,’ controlled by the Rapid Support Forces, and three companies involved in purchasing military equipment for the Rapid Support Forces. These companies are ‘Al Jeneid for Diverse Activities Limited,’ ‘Tradef General Trading Limited,’ and ‘GSK Advance Limited.’
