Ethiopian Foreign Minister Taiye Atsuke Selassie affirmed his country’s support for the efforts of the African Union to comprehensively resolve the Sudanese crisis.
Selassie’s remarks came during a meeting with Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, where the latter briefed him on the consultations held by the Commission on Sudan, and the need for adequate attention to the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
Selassie referred to his country’s contributions to peace efforts in Sudan, stressing Ethiopia’s confidence in achieving progress in resolving the crisis through the African Union-led initiative.
The Ethiopian minister also urged the international community and the countries of the region to support the efforts of the African Union Commission, explaining the importance of their cooperation for the success of the peace process in Sudan.
