The Ethiopian Minister of Innovation and Technology, Balt Mola, discussed with a delegation from “the China National Nuclear Power” Corporation Limited ways of possible cooperation in the field of peaceful nuclear energy.
The discussions focused on improving the development of infrastructure related to peaceful nuclear programs in Ethiopia, according to the Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
Minister Mola explained in press statements that Ethiopia has achieved great progress in the use of peaceful nuclear energy, pointing to the important role of the agreement signed with the Russian nuclear energy company “Rosatom” in achieving this progress.
Mola stressed his ministry’s keenness to cooperate with the Chinese company in training and developing human resources to build nuclear energy capabilities.
For their part, representatives of the Chinese company indicated that they had previously held a round of discussions to finalize an agreement aimed at helping build the capabilities of the Center of Excellence for Nuclear Science at the Addis Ababa University of Science and Technology.
They expressed their desire to work on training human resources and other areas in the nuclear sector.
