Egypt’s Al Ahly and Tunisia’s Esperance have qualified for the CAF Champions League final after winning the second leg in the semi-finals.
The Egyptian team decided at Al-Ahly Stadium in Cairo, qualified by beating the Congolese TP Mazembe with three clean goals, to ensure its participation in the final for the fifteenth time in its history.
Esperance de Tunis secured their place in the final with a hard-fought 1-0 win over South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, in a match that ended after a temporary break due to a thunderstorm.
With this qualification, Esperance will play the 2025 Club World Cup in its new format as the third representative of African football after Al-Ahly and Wydad of Morocco.
With these results, the final match of the CAF Champions League will witness a renewed Arab conflict between Egypt’s Al Ahly and Tunisia’s Esperance, with each team seeking the continental title.
