The Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sweilam, discussed with the Tunisian Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Abdel Moneim Belaati, ways to enhance prospects for cooperation and partnership in the water sector between the two countries.
The two ministers met on the sidelines of the 5th Mediterranean Water Forum, which will be held in Tunis from February 5th to 7th.
The two parties stressed the need to enhance the level of cooperation between the two countries in the water sector, especially with regard to the exchange of experiences in the field of water treatment, where Sweilam stressed Egypt’s openness to expanding areas of partnership and exchanging experiences, especially in the field of reuse of agricultural and sanitary drainage water and the methods of purification adopted in the field.
