The Egyptian Interior Ministry revealed on Monday evening the details of the disappearance of a child in the Assiut governorate in Upper Egypt, where her father admitted to throwing her into a drainage channel.
The ministry announced through its official account on the “X” platform that the child’s body was recovered after the father confessed to the crime.
The ministry said no official report had been submitted from the girl’s father, who has a criminal record, regarding her disappearance.
Based on investigations and information, it was found that the father threw the child into a drain at the Manfalut police station in Assiut and claimed that she had disappeared to implicate others in the crime.
The ministry confirmed that the father was arrested after taking the necessary legal measures, as he confessed to committing the crime, and the river rescue forces were able to recover the child’s body from the place where it was dumped.
