Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said on Sunday that the Gaza crisis has caused serious regional conflicts, and there can be no solution except the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Shoukry said at a press conference during the work of the ministerial council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco in the Saudi capital Riyadh, that there are serious threats to the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
Shoukry continued: “The situation in Lebanon calls for real concern in light of the escalating Israeli aggressions there.”
The United States and Britain have repeatedly struck Houthi positions in Yemen aimed at disrupting and weakening the group’s ability to threaten navigation in the Red Sea and undermine global trade, while the Houthis say they are targeting Israeli ships or bound for Israel in response to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
In Lebanon, there has been almost daily mutual shelling between Hezbollah and the Israeli army across the border since the start of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip last October.
