The Economic Court issued a one-year prison sentence and a fine of 100,000 pounds against blogger Nadine Tariq, after accusing her of inciting immorality and publishing immoral videos on the “Tik Tok” platform.
Nadine Tariq denied the charges against her and admitted that she had filmed and published the videos, but she denied that they violated the values of the Egyptian family or contained offensive or obscene language.
The Public Prosecution charged Nadine Tariq with assaulting family values, publishing obscene videos, advertising prostitution, and misusing social networking sites. Nadine’s mother accompanied her daughter in court to support her, but the ruling was shocking to them.
In a similar context, “TikToker” Hadir Abdel Razek was subjected to the same accusations last May due to “disgraceful” content on her account, which prompted her to announce her retirement from social networking sites after a scandal related to one of her clips.
