The activities of the eleventh Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts in Egypt will start next Sunday, February 18, and will continue until the 22nd of this month.

The concerned authorities in the Egyptian governorate of Aswan are intensifying their preparations for the launch of the festival activities and the celebration of the phenomenon of the sun perpendicular to the face of Ramses II in the tourist city of Abu Simbel.

The opening ceremony will witness artistic and heritage performances by 15 local and international folk arts troupes to present an insight into international, Arab, African, and local cultures, arts, and heritage.

On February 21, celebrations will be held for all participating troupes in Abu Simbel and at the Madina Market Theater, and the activities will conclude at the Abu Simbel Temple on the morning of February 22, coinciding with the sun perpendicular to the statue of Ramses II.
