The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population has ordered the tightening of the state of emergency and the activation of preventive health measures across land, sea and airports.
This step came in light of the continuous monitoring of the epidemiological situation of the “Monkeypox” disease (M Pox) and the World Health Organization’s announcement that the disease constitutes a global health emergency that calls for concern.
As part of its strategy to maintain the safety of citizens, the ministry confirmed raising the level of readiness in all quarantine departments at airports, seaports and land crossings.
The ministry stressed the activation of all precautionary and preventive measures related to the disease at the country’s entry points.
It is worth noting that the “M Pox” virus, formerly known as monkeypox, is spread through direct contact, including exposure to a rash, contaminated clothing or linens, or respiratory droplets of the infected person, and the infection usually results in the appearance of a painful rash and blisters on the surface of the palm of the hand.
