Israeli media reported that Cairo strongly rejected an Israeli proposal calling for the temporary resettlement of Gaza residents in Egypt.
The Israeli request aims to displace tens of thousands of Gaza residents to Egyptian territory for a limited period, in an attempt to facilitate the elimination of the remaining armed factions in the Strip.
According to the Israeli news website “Srugim”, the proposal comes in the context of preparing to resume negotiations on the release of prisoners and a ceasefire in Gaza.
The website indicated that Egypt considered this measure “unacceptable” to it and contradicts its political and humanitarian principles.
Media sources confirmed that Egypt, which played a major role as a mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, sees the proposal as a step that threatens its internal stability and complicates the situation in the region.
It is worth noting that Egypt’s relationship with the Gaza Strip was part of the conflict with Israel. After the 1948 war, Egypt took over the administration of the Gaza Strip until 1967, when Israel occupied it completely. There were attempts to settle Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip during the period of Egyptian administration.
The fee for conscription settlement for expatriates in Egypt has been raised to $7,000
