Egypt banned Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe from working in its territory after she breached the terms of an artistic contract with a film production company.
Dr. Ashraf Zaki, the head of the “Acting Professions Syndicate,” addressed his counterpart, artist Mustafa Kamel, the head of the “Music Professions Syndicate,” with an official request to activate the role of the Federation of Artistic Syndicates in dealing with the case of artist Haifa Wehbe.
The request was made after Wehbe breached the terms of an artistic contract with a film production company, as she received the contract deposit and did not abide by the decision of the investigation committee of the Acting Professions Syndicate, which led to her being suspended from work and being denied a license again.
At the same time, the “Music Professions Syndicate” received an official complaint from a concert organizer about Wehbe’s breach of an agreement to hold a concert on the North Coast on July 19, despite receiving the agreed amount, which caused significant financial damage to the organizer. After examining the complaint, the validity of the allegations was confirmed.
As a result, the investigation and legal affairs committees of the “Acting Professions” and “Music” syndicates decided not to grant any work permit to Haifa Wehbe to hold concerts or practice acting until the existing disputes are resolved.
Regarding the date of the investigation with the artist, Kamel stated that the legal affairs will set a date for her and the plaintiff to attend next week.
It is noteworthy that Haifa Wehbe recently released a song titled “Ya Nahla,” which expresses her rebellion against her lover and her decision to leave him after their relationship reached a dead end.
