Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry announced that Egypt is actively participating in all multilateral forums concerned with the water issue, with the aim of confirming its position consistent with international law.

This came during his statement to the Egyptian Al-Oula satellite channel, on the sidelines of the opening session of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum on Thursday morning.

Shukry stressed that Egypt is cooperating with regional partners and the African countries with which it shares the Nile waters, in order to approve and adhere to the necessary principles.

He explained that Egypt rejects compromising its water security and considers it an existential issue, stressing that Egypt will confront any attempts to negatively impact its water security, as President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi confirmed in his speech.

In a related context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister pointed out that the joint statement issued by the China-Arab Cooperation Forum confirms that the visions of Arab countries and China are identical in many fields.

He explained that there is a will to enhance cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields, noting that the forum constitutes a solid foundation for the continued development of relations and the creation of new horizons for cooperation.
