The Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics stated that exports to Libya witnessed a significant increase by the end of 2023, reaching nearly two billion dollars compared to the year 2022.
According to data issued by the agency, the total Egyptian exports to Libya amounted to about one billion and 824 million dollars by the end of 2023, compared to one billion and 214 million dollars in 2022, an increase estimated at 609 million and 654 thousand dollars.
This increase in Egyptian exports to Libya came as a result of an increase in the exports of some commodity groups, led by stone and cement manufactures, with a total value of about 299 million and 940 thousand dollars by the end of 2023, compared to 103 million and 442 thousand dollars in the previous year, an increase estimated at 196 million and 499 thousand dollars.
Egyptian exports also included a variety of goods, such as clothing and accessories, which amounted to $ 67 million and 854 thousand by the end of 2023, compared to about $ 33 million and 111 thousand in 2022, an increase of $ 34 million and 743 thousand.
It also included Egypt’s exports of vegetables and plants with a value of 67 million and 424 thousand dollars by the end of 2023, compared to about 46 million and 632 thousand dollars in 2022, an increase of 20 million and 763 thousand dollars.
This increase in Egyptian exports to Libya comes within the framework of the development of economic relations between the two countries and the encouragement of trade exchange between them.
